Finance Director
Our client, a leading medical device company is seeking to hire a Finance Director who will oversee their finance operations in the Asia Pacific region. This position is based in Singapore.
Reporting to the Managing Director of the APAC region, the successful candidate will assume overall responsibility for the financial management and accounting for the Asia Pacific business.
Key Responsibilities:
Responsible for the Asia Pacific financial control functions, leading and ensuring the effective implementation of the Group’s financial systems/policies and procedures across Asia Pacific
Work closely with the regional leadership teams and plant finance teams in the preparation, analysis and presentation of all financial planning, forecasting, and budgeting activities relating to the business
Be an in-house financial expert for Asia Pacific and be involved in the evaluation of all business proposals and commercial propositions such as acquisitions, new investments, shutdowns, product line diversification strategies, long-term corporate proposals and/or other matters having a strategic impact on the Asia Pacific or worldwide business
Analyze business performance against plan, history and projected performance and to provide the business managers with regular analysis of financial performance to aid them in their business
Co-ordinate with the Commercial and Manufacturing teams in Asia Pacific in the preparation, analysis and presentation of Long Range Plans, alternative strategies, interim plan updates, capital investment requests, pricing decisions, forecasting, and other finance related activities
Direct all management accounting and external financial accounting activities, including regulatory financial reporting, tax accounting and pricing issues
Achieve established quality standards by communicating job expectations, providing direction on priorities and monitoring individual and team performance.
Lead a team of finance professionals/managers, oversee recruitment and selection matters and learning and development plans for staff
Key Requirements
Finance or related Degree from a recognized University
CPA Qualifications preferred and MBA an advantage
Between 8 -10 years of relevant experience in managing Finance teams in an international/MNC environment
Strong experience in the financial/accounting controls aspects
Excellent quantitative, analytical and technical accounting skills
Good regional experience, with the ability and experience over-seeing the finance function in a few countries
Expertise in setting up regional/business entities and accounting systems, controls and processes in various countries
Strong knowledge of local tax regulations and exemptions in various countries
Ability to thrive in a highly dynamic and fluid environment, lead the finance team, work independently and meet deadlines under pressure in a fast paced environment
Be a solid business partner to the line managers and contribute effectively to the organization’s overall business strategy
Relevant corporate finance experience in a MNC, including familiarity with financial reporting systems and internal controls
Knowledge of international and local tax requirements, in-country regulatory framework for legal entities in various Asia Pacific countries is a strong advantage
Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, presentation and interpersonal skills
Strong leadership experience and able to lead, attract, train & develop a capable team of finance professionals, leading the finance team to the next level
