Senior Control Officer

Under the general supervision of a professional staff, directs, controls, coordinates and carries out activities with respect to administrative matters; establishes, maintains and supervises the updating of accurate and complete accounting records and sound accounting/internal controls related to investments as assigned, borrowings and related derivatives and foreign exchange transactions; prepares financial reports and related disclosures; values structured products including credit spread and ensures always that the work area’s objectives are accomplished in a timely, orderly, effective and efficient manner. At this level, the position is expected to work more independently from the professional staff supervisor and direct and supervise the support staff.

Bachelor degree in business administration, major in Accounting/Finance; a CPA qualification and/or a CFA. If the candidate selected has no CFA certification, he/she is expected to work towards acquiring the CFA certification.

Suitability to undertake the responsibilities mentioned above at the required level.

At least 10 years experience in accounting with at least 5 years in a supervisory capacity in a computerized environment in a large organization; and experience in the accounting and analysis of fixed income securities and derivative instruments

Proven supervisory and interpersonal skills with ability to provide feedback to subordinates.

Proficient with computer software in common use at multilateral institutions, and its interfaces with other systems and work areas, particularly MS Excel and Word, and large accounting software (e.g. Oracle ERP, SUMMIT).

Good understanding of accounting policies, practices and systems, as well as general policies, procedures, guidelines and reporting requirements prevalent in a multilateral institution.

Excellent understanding of general accounting concepts and principles (US GAAP) related to fixed income securities, derivative products, investments, and the application thereof. Knowledge of IFRS would be desirable.

Good understanding of the concept of internal controls and their application.

Analytical and systematic with strong numerical skills and attention to detail.

Excellent oral and written skills in English.

Ability to plan and coordinate schedules in order to meet deadlines.
