Avoiding Internet Scams

Avoiding Internet Scams. Here’s a few tips to protect yourself from internet scams.

Read, research, and Google it! The first step to avoiding internet scams is by searching the name of the company and website on Google. If that company has been doing something wrong, chances are, someone has already blogged about it. Read the feedback of people who have tried working with those companies or websites.

Join on-line communities of work-from-home people. Join forums of work-from-home websites. Before joining websites or paying for sign-ups that claim to be able to earn you thousands of dollars a month, ask for advice from other participants in the forums.

Avoid paid programs that promise you fast, easy earnings, overnight.  While some paid programs are legitimate and actually pay, keep in mind that it’s not always what they promise as “easy”. If you really want to earn, then set your mindset that you’ll really have to work for it. You can earn a significant amount from MLM or affiliate websites, but it will take more than just sitting around to succeed.

How did you learn about that opportunity? If it comes from a good source, then chances are, it’s really a legitimate company. But if it comes from your SPAM folder in your mail, then be careful about it. It might be a good opportunity though, so you can research more about it.

Not all companies labeled as SCAM are actually SCAM. This is one thing we’ve learned when working with different online opportunities. If you really want to know more about the legitimacy of a company, search for positive reviews as well as negative reviews about that company. We’ve joined companies that we’ve been warned are SCAM, but since we’ve also heard great things about the company from reliable sources, we decided to try them out and have actually earned from them. The best course of action is to learn the right thing to do from the positive reviews, and learn what not to do from the negative reviews.

I am really wary of get rich quick Internet marketers. I get bombarded daily by emails with promises of earning in clickbank in thousands of dollars but first.. I have to pay a sum to learn their techniques. And they got testimonials to prove it.

Nothing beats hard work. Learn a new skill instead. SEO is a good skill to learn. I have earned a substantial amount working as a freelance SEO expert. This is a skill that fresh graduates or even freelance web designers can learn in order to add something to their services.
